This fungus has been used for thousands of years in China for its capacity to sustain and reinforce the Qi (Life Energy). In traditional Chinese Medecine, Qi represents the breath, the junction point of chinese meridians and the fundamental life energy responsible for health. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a well known adaptogen that tone Qi, which means that it strengthens the whole body whilst maintaining its optimum capacity and thus reducing the risk of diseases caused by intrusion.
IMMUNOSTIMULANT
Ganoderma lucidum stimulates natural killer (NK) lymphocytes and cytotoxic lymphocytes (Sasaki et al. 1971; Lotzova 1985) via a specific receptor. It diminishes the proliferation of tumurous cells and promotes their apoptosis. In patients with cancer who have undergone radiotherapy or chemotherapy, it diminishes fatigue, hairloss, medullary depression and pain.
